Hyderabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi called the liberation of Hyderabad State from the rule of the Nizam on September 17, 1948 "a pivotal moment in our nation’s history".
Responding to an X thread posted by Union minister for culture G. Kishan Reddy on the Hyderabad Liberation Day celebrations, Modi said, "Today we are proudly remembering the spirit of unity and the sacrificed made for the unity of the country. Let us pay tribute to Sardar Patel who played an exemplary role in the merger of Hyderabad, I am happy that the Government of India is organising this day in Hyderabad with great enthusiasm."
