Seasonal diseases hit students attending physical classes
ADILABAD: Seasonal diseases have hit many students attending physical classes after reopening of schools in old Adilabad district. These students are down viral fevers that started after heavy rains and bad weather conditions.
Medical experts say prevailing weather conditions are unfavourable for free movement of children in open places or spending time outside their homes.
Teachers themselves have asked students with cough and running noses to take rest and come back to school only after recovering.
There is considerable confusion among people with regard to cough, cold, fever and headache symptoms, which are common for viral fevers as well as Coronavirus.
Some parents are not sending their children suffering from fever to schools fearing their condition may deteriorate and they may affect other students too.
Even after 17 days of reopening of schools, strength of students is yet not up to the mark. A parent Ashok of Adilabad town said they are not mentally prepared to send their children to school, given the prevailing uncertainty and conditions. Probably, they will let their kids attend classes only from next month.
Meanwhile, managements and teachers of private schools are taking all measures to avoid spread of Covid-19 among their students, who have started attending classes. Physical classes for lower classes at many private schools have not yet started. However, lower classes too are running when it comes to government schools, particularly in villages.
Some parents are disappointed that no transportation facility is being provided by schools for picking up and dropping their children. In its absence, parents are using their own vehicles for pick up and drop. This has become a challenge for many parents.
