KSRTC clocks record revenue
Kochi: The cash-strapped Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) achieved a record daily revenue collection of Rs 8.32 crore on Monday.
“A record daily collection of Rs 8, 32, 97, 616 was achieved on September 16 when a total of 4993 buses were operated transporting 33,85, 226 people,” said an RTC spokesperson.
What has aided KSRTC was the operation of additional services in long-haul routes and extending online reservation facility for such services.
The corporation recently redeployed its superclass services in the Thiruvananthapuram-Thrissur section besides starting ordinary chain services in new routes which too has contributed to the achievement.
“We achieved this by scientific rescheduling of services while effecting a substantial cut in daily operational expense. The joint effort of all the employees was another contributing factor,” said managing director M.P. Dinesh.
