Hyderabad: Ravi colony residents take up road work

One of the residents, Mr Ch. Ramesh, said he had been living in the colony for eight years and since then the road is in the same pathetic condition.

Hyderabad: Residents have poured about eight trucks of construction debris a month ago to fill the pit in a 100 metre stretch of a colony road that was lying unconstructed for the last several years and it was becoming a mini pool whenever it rained in Ravi Colony near Trimulgherry.

One of the residents, Mr Ch. Ramesh, said he had been living in the colony for eight years and since then the road is in the same pathetic condition. "Whenever it rains, there used to be knee-deep water in front of the house and it would have become next to impossible to enter or remove vehicles from the parking lot."

Unable to tolerate the inconvenience, residents are coming up with their own remedial measures as many of their representations to the authorities have gone in vain. Recently, they have poured in trucks of construction debris to level the land at least, which remained like a large pit for the longest while. Another resident said even when there was slight rain, there used be knee-deep water in the area.
