Hyderabad: Osmania General Hospital doctors take out protest

The TJUDA has been carrying out continuous agitation for the last nine days but there was no response from the government.

Hyderabad: Telangana Junior Doctors Association on Monday morning took out a funeral rally against the Telangana government as it has failed to respond to their demand for a new building for Osmania General Hospital.

The TJUDA has been carrying out continuous agitation for the last nine days but there was no response from the government. The protest was carried out at Osmania Medical College where all the students demanded that facilities at the teaching hospital be improved.

The junior doctors protested by tying bandages to their heads and hands as a gesture of their state for working in a dilapidated and dangerous building. Dr P.S. Vijayender, chairman of TJUDA, said, “The students have boycotted classes today. We are still working in the out-patient and in-service sections as we do not want to inconvenience the poor. But what worries us is the fact that the government is not going to take measures to improve the facilities in the building. Junior doctors work there day and night and are at great risk,” he said.
