Sunil Metri, Director, IMD, Bengaluru, said, “The city would receive light to moderate rainfall on Monday though there is a probability of heavy rainfall in South Karnataka. Though there are no signs of Bengaluru receiving torrential rainfall, still it cannot be ruled out."

The intermittent rains that began in the morning and continued till evening at short intervals spoiled the Sunday plan of most Bengalurians, who were forced to stay indoors.

Adwait, who works with a private tax company, was disappointed with the showers that spoiled his lone weekly off. "I had planned to go on a night trek to Nandi hills with my friends, but the rain had forced us to stay indoors. Moreover, one cannot move out to the CBD areas due to the slow movement of traffic."

According to the Karnataka State Natural Disaster Management Centre, Bengaluru received moderate rain (7.6 mm - 35 mm) while some of the districts in Dakshina Kannada received 65mm of rainfall.
