Hyderabad: Monkeys are robbing peace of mind of residents in the Old City. The monkey menace has created a scare in Moghalpura, Sardar Mahal, Gulzar Houz, Kalikaman and Etebar Chowk.
“Monkeys camp at the Charminar BSNL office and the GHMC Sardar Mahal office. In the afternoon, they enter houses and take away food items or other articles,” said Mr Syed Hameed, a businessman from Moghalpura.
Monkeys attack residents when they are chased away. “The monkeys move in group and enter houses through terrace. In fact, many of us have installed iron grills at the window,” said Mr Sunil Agarwal, a resident of Sunargalli, Gulzar Houz. “Sometimes, monkeys jump on transformers causing damage," said an electricity company worker.
Mr Syed Sohail Quadri, local corporator, said that he had informed the GHMC about the problem will be looked into.
