Hyderabad: Moderate rains for 4 more days

Amongst all the districts, Mahboobad district received 68 mm of rainfall, which was the highest in the state on Sunday.

Hyderabad: An overcast engulfed the Sunday skies in the city, but finally gave way to the thunderstorm across parts of the city like Jubliee Hills, Rajendranagar and Khairatabad circles. The moderate rains of Sunday will be kicking off a week full of wet spell, predicts IMD. The reports suggest that the rains are going to be a direct impact of the air cyclonic circulation in Bay of Bengal which is tilting southwest towards Hyderabad.

The city received 4.6 mm of rain on Sunday, including areas like Malkajgiri, Canton-ment and Kapra circle which were heavily inundated in the rains of last week. The GHMC also put their teams on alert to avoid hassles as thunderstorm accompanied with winds of 17 knots gripping the city.

Amongst all the districts, Mahboobad district received 68 mm of rainfall, which was the highest in the state on Sunday. “We can expect moderate rainfalls for the next 4-5 days accompanied with thundershowers,” said Mr Y. K. Reddy, IMD Director Hyderabad.
