Complaint against Kannada actors for 'instigating violence' over Cauvery issue
Coimbatore: An organisation fighting for the cause of Tamil Nadu has filed a petition in a court seeking action against three Kannada film actors for allegedly
instigating violence against Tamils in Karnataka over the recent Cauvery issue.
P Elangovan, founder-president of Tamil Desiya Peramaippu, filed a plea in this regard in the 2nd Judicial Magistrate Court on Saturday. The complaint was in connection with the speech made by leading Kannada stars, Puneeth Rajkumar, Upendra and Darshan Tugudeep at a meeting in Mandya district in Karnataka on
September 12.
He sought action against the actors under various IPC sections,including 124 (A) (Sedition), 153 (provoking with intent to cause rioting and 153 A (promoting enmity between groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth and
language.
