Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee eyes 70 assembly seats

The TPCC has confirmed the report, but refused to disclose the assembly and Lok Sabha constituencies where the party is expected to win.

HYDERABAD: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) is confident about winning 70 assembly seats and 12 Lok Sabha seats in the coming elections, it said a report submitted to the High Command. The TPCC has been conducting surveys frequently to know the party position in the State. The party unit confirmed the report but refused to disclose the the assembly and Lok Sabha constituencies that it was confident of winning.

Sources in the TPCC sources said if they revealed the constituencies the ruling TRS may play spoilsport. TPCC president Mr N. Uttam Kumar Reddy recently told the media that the Congress would win 80 assembly seats. Mr. Reddy said, “Congress leaders did not mobilise the public for Rahul Gandhi’s meeting, but the people showed their support to the Congress.”

A few TPCC leaders said that if the Congress entered into an alliance with any other party, it would get more seats, but what was important was the selection of correct candidates and those who have winning chances.
