Hyderabad: AIMIM corporator Syed Matin thrashed

All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen (AIMIM) corporator was thrashed by corporators of Shiv Sena and BJP in Aurangabad after he opposed the motion of paying respect to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee after his death on Thursday. 

The incident happened on Friday afternoon during a meet held at the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation to condole the death of the former Prime Minister. 

 

According to reports, Shiv Sena corporator Raju Vaidya in Aurangabad Municipal Corporation in Maharashtra moved a motion to pay tribute to former Prime Minister and BJP leader Atal Bihari Vajpayee after he passed away on Thursday. The AIMIM corporator Syed Matin opposed the motion, which did not go well with the rest of the Shiv Sena corporators.

Soon things took an ugly turn when BJP and Shiv Sena corporators, pounced on the AIMIM corporator and thrashed him. 

The police intervened and rescued and shifted to a hospital. He sustained injuries in the attack. 

Soon after the incident, AIMIM supporters vandalised the car of a BJP leader Bhaurao Deshmukh in Aurangabad. 

Matin’s driver was pulled out of the car and was beaten up. Police intervened and saved the driver. 

After the incident, security was reportedly increased outside the municipal corporation. 

AIMIM legislator from Aurangabad, Imtiyaz Jaleel, was not available for his comments on the incident of violence in the corporation.
