Two Osmania University students bag plum jobs
Hyderabad: Two engineering students of Osmania University (OU) have bagged placement worth Rs 29.5 lakh per annum.
This is highest salary package till date in the university’s history.
Twenty-year-old Vikram Simha Reddy and Abhishek Velidi, final year students of computer science, bagged the plum posting at De Shaw, a US-based multinational company.
Both of them had done their summer internship at this transnational company. Based on their performance, the company confirmed them as permanent employees, said V. Uma Maheshwar, placement and training officer, University College of Engineering (autonomous).
Abhishek Velidi said, “As I did not want to leave my parents I chose to work in Hyderabad. I am glad that I have been given such a wonderful package. I am looking forward to leading a team as a project leader. ’’
Vikram Reddy said, “I am excited at the huge salary package. I am familiar with the ethos of the company. I thank my university. As of now, I have no other plans. I will think of higher studies after two years.
Uma Maheshwar further said that De Shaw used to visit the campus for a past few years.
They hired Vikram and Abhishek for a salary of Rs 29.5 lakh per annum, which is highest till date.
