Sunday summit will see Rajinikanth's political entry: Thamizharuvi Manian

People were looking for a good change in Tamil Nadu politics and longing for a good leadership to save them, he said.

Chennai: Asserting that actor Rajinikanth had vowed to enter the state politics and root out corruption, Gandhian People's Movement leader Thamizharuvi Manian on Thursday said his party conference to be attended by a large number of the actor's fans on August 20 would herald Rajinikanth's arrival into politics.

“The conference in Tiruchy will also mark the beginning of the countdown for the corrupt government headed by Edappadi K. Palaniswami. The actor will release the state from the clutches of both the DMK and AIADMK, which had made corruption omni-present for the last five decades,” he said in a statement.
“Palaniswami government is counting its days in office due to the internal squabbles in the party and the continuance of the present government is against the welfare of the state,” Manian said.

People were looking for a good change in Tamil Nadu politics and longing for a good leadership to save them, he said.

The conference would explain the necessity of Rajinikanth's entry into politics and the good changes he could bring into the state, besides becoming a platform for his political entry.

Manian, had already met Rajinikanth, a few times and asserted that the actor had confirmed his entry into politics, immediately after the meetings. So far, Rajinikanth had not denied the statements of Manian, who had been giving a series of interviews to Tamil news channels and magazines asserting that the actor would launch his party soon.

The popular actor is at present busy in shooting of his film 'Kaala'. The film shooting had faced delay due to the strike of FEFSI employees. It is expected that he would meet his fans again in September last or October, when he is expected to convey his views on entering politics.

During his earlier meeting with fans, he had criticised the system in the state and declared that “I will consider when the war approaches”. The comment is being interpreted as his wish to take the political plunge at the election time.
