AP has got bad deal: Jagan Mohan Reddy

Mr Reddy accused Naidu of betraying the trust reposed in him by the hapless people.

KURNOOL: YSRC president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Thursday hit out at AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and said that none of his promises were fulfilled in the state in the last three and half years after the government was formed. Speaking at Harijanpet, Mr Reddy accused Naidu of betraying the trust reposed in him by the hapless people. He said that every section of the society got a raw deal during the three-year rule of the Telugu Desam (TD). He said, “The TD has made it a habit of going back on promises resulting in several welfare programmes being watered down. The Aarogyasri and fee reimbursement which were of immense benefit to the people were steadily watered down by the CM.”

Similarly, pension for the unemployed youth was a poll promise of the TD but it was conveniently forgotten. He said that over Rs 14,000 crore of farm loan waiver was also completely ignored by the government. “The Chief Minister promised to reduce the number of belt shops in the state but what we see now is that such shops are cropping up in every town and village,” the YSRC chief said.

“Now the Chief Minster is distributing Rs 5,000 to every voter in the constituency and seeking their vote, whereas he has amassed crores of rupees by going back on his promises and deceiving the people,” he added.
