Hyderabad: Metro barricades have been put up in the city as Metro Rail stations are at a lower height. Ganesh idols this year, hence, will have to be below 15 feet, the police and traffic officials said on Wednesday.
In an inspection carried out by senior police officials of law and order department, traffic and zonal deputy commissioner of police along with representatives of Bhagyanagar Ganesh Ustav Samithi it was found that these barricades will not allow for idols above 15 feet within city limits.
Engineers of Larsen and Turbo measured the main sites along with the police and members of the committee and have given a detailed report of these measurements to the pandal organisers. Law and order and traffic police have clearly stated that only those idols which are below 15 feet will be allowed in the main procession route in the city limits.
Puthlibowli to M J Market — 13 feet allowed.
Koto to M J Market — available height is 23 feet but idols must be below 15 feet.
Ajantha Gate signal — Available area below Metro station is 34 feet but huge idols can't be taken.
M J Market Pillar — Height available is 26 feet but on the edge and hence it is not possible to take very tall idols.
