Hyderabad: The nodal officers appointed by the state government in districts hit by floods have directed the districts to form rapid response teams, establish helpline numbers and conduct health camps round the clock.
Two nodal officers have been appointed — the Director of Public Health & Family Welfare for three districts and the Director of Medical Education for five districts. They have directed all districts to form rapid response teams at the district and divisional levels and also to establish helpline numbers for the public.
At the state level, a war room has been established and is functioning round the clock. The helplines for the war room are 9030227324 and 040-24651119. The districts have been directed to conduct health camps round the clock at flood affected areas by deploying sufficient health staff.
The nodal officers have instructed the districts to ensure sufficient quantities of epidemic medicines including IV fluids and ensure that it reaches the peripheral institutions. The Director of Public Health Dr G Srinivasa Rao visited Bhadradri Kothagudem while Director of Medical Education Dr K Ramesh Reddy visited Mancherial and Asifabad districts and reviewed the preparedness done by districts and conducted field visits.
Since July 16, a total of 24,674 people have been treated at the health camps in eight districts. A total of 289 health camps were conducted on Sunday in which 11,511 people were treated.
