Very heavy rains in Idukki, Malappuram:
Thiruvananthapuram: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of very heavy rainfall on Thursday at Iddukki and Malappuram districts.
The districts where red alert was issued are: July 18: Idukki, Malappuram (very heavy rain), July 19: Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Iddukki, (very heavy rainfall), July 20: Ernakulam (isolated to heavy), Idukki (very heavy rainfall)
July 18: Strong winds from northwesterly direction with speeds reaching 40-50 kmph likely along and off Kerala coast and off Lakshadweep area.
July 18 and 19: Strong winds from southwesterly direction with speeds reaching 40-50 kmph likely to prevail over Southwest, Central Arabian Sea and adjoining North Arabian Sea. Sea condition will be rough to very rough.
July20 and July 21: Strong winds from southwesterly direction speed reaching 40-50 kmph likely to prevail over Southwest and adjoining Central Arabian Sea. Sea condition will be rough to very rough.
July 18 and July 19: Strong winds from southwesterly direction speed reaching 40-50 kmph likely to prevail over Maldives, Gulf of Mannar and Comorin area.
