Rahul Gandhi revamps Congress Working Committee, convenes first meeting

New Delhi: Congress chief Mr. Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday reconstituted the Congress Working Committee, the party's highest decision-making body. Senior leaders like Mr. Janardhan Dwivedi, Mr. Digvijaya Singh, Mr. CP Joshi, Mr. BK Hariprasad, Mr. Jairam Ramesh and former Home Minister Mr. Sushil Kumar Shinde have made way for young Turks like Mr. Jyotiraditya Scindhia, Mr. Deependra Hooda and Mr. Jitin Prasada.

Former Uttarakhand Chief Minister Mr. Harish Rawat has also been included as a member. Mr. P Chidambaram has made a permanent invitee he was earlier a member. The first meeting of the CWC will be held on July 22. The committee was dissolved prior to the election of the Congress president.
