Hyderabad: The drinking water leakage at the KPHB 6th phase was repaired on Tuesday and the residents will no longer receive sewerage water.
Residents of KPHB were facing problem with the sewerage water getting mixed with drinking water.
Officials had laid the road without fixing the leak a month ago.
This newspaper on Monday reported the issue, ‘People falling ill due to sewage water’ as the residents fell sick after consuming the contaminated water.
Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) officials on Tuesday sought the permission to dig the road and fixed the leak.
An official said,“We dug the road. We should be able to fix the issue by today itself.” Mr Mohan Rao, a resident, said, “The work is completed under the supervision of the water works engineer. The trouble was due to the negligence from roads and drainage department.”
