MLC hails 30% fitment to KGBV teachers

There was no job security for teachers working in KGBVs, state president of the TS-KGBV-EWA, Srilatha pointed out

Karimnagar: MLC Kura Raghotham Reddy welcomed the state government’s decision to provide 30 percent fitment to teachers working in Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) and assured them of resolving various issues they are facing.

A meeting was held with the teachers of KGBV of united Karimnagar district under the Telangana State KGBV Employees Welfare Association (TS-KGBV-EWA) here at the Press Bhavan in Karimnagar on Friday.

Speaking at the meeting, Raghotham Reddy said around 9,000 teachers working in about 475 KGBV schools were going to avail 30 percent fitment benefit with the announcement made by the state government. They can also avail 180 days leave under maternity holidays.

The state president of the TS-KGBV-EWA, Srilatha, speaking on the occasion, said the KGBV teachers across the state were working without proper facilities required for the staff and they were facing several problems. Apart from that, there was no job security for teachers working in KGBVs, she pointed out.

She requested the MLC for the implementation of time scale to the teachers working in KGBVs and to provide job security along with basic facilities to the teachers.

Responding positively to her request, Raghotham Reddy assured the teachers of resolving various issues they were facing after having discussions with the government.

Progressive Recognised Teachers Union district president P. Adharshan Reddy, general secretary M Tirupathi Reddy, vice president M Swapna, P Vasantha and Srinivas were among those who were present.
