Low key start for mango festival in Krishnagiri

The mango festival also gives an opportunity for visitors to have a glimpse of over 30 locally grown mango varieties at one place.

Krishnagiri: The 27th mango festival opened here on Sunday at the government boys high school ground and will go on till July 15.

Over 130 stalls including thirty five opened by government departments exhibiting welfare schemes of the state, are the major attraction of this exhibition.

The mango festival also gives an opportunity for visitors to have a glimpse of over 30 locally grown mango varieties at one place.

A separate place was also allotted for mango growers to display their produce for the competition. The judges will select the best crop for the prize.

The exhibition also has other interesting aspects such as a replica of the ICC world cup made of flowers which is displayed in the stall by the district horticulture department.

There are also other attractions like a penguin made of fresh flowers.
