Kadapa: Power cable snaps, kills 2

Kadapa: In a shocking incident, two realtors were burnt to death after an overhead power cable snapped and fell on them at Pulivendula in Kadapa district on Monday morning.

The victims, identified as retired soldier Ramireddy Govardhan Reddy, 40, and Pochamreddy Pratap Reddy, 39, had gone to inspect a site they owned near the Gangamma temple on the Kadiri ring road on the outskirts of Pulivendula town when the power line that went across their field snapped and fell on them.

The sparks due to the electricity ignited the petrol and within moments, they were burnt alive. Sub-divisional police officer R. Vasudevan, who took charge of his post on Monday and inspector Ramanji Naik along with his team visited the spot and registered a case.
