Truckers to go on indefinite strike from 18th June 2018

Excluding of essential and emergency commodities, transport of all other goods will be affected from Monday.

Bengaluru: Truckers will go on an indefinite strike from Monday, protesting against unscientific pricing of petrol and diesel, hike in third party insurance premium, exorbitant toll charges and other issues affecting truck owners.

Excluding of essential and emergency commodities, transport of all other goods will be affected from Monday.

Mr Channareddy, president, All-India Confederation of Goods Vehicle Owner's Association, said that repeated representations to Prime Minister Narendra Modi have failed to yield any result and truckers are forced to resort to the strike.

He said that the diesel price was at Rs 53 in 2013 when the international crude price was $110 per barrel, but now, when the crude price is at $70 per barrel, the diesel price is Rs 74 in Karnataka and much higher in other states.
