CBSE: Test papers to have QR codes

In case any invigilator has a ward studying in a school, he/she should not be assigned duty at that particular centre.

HYDERABAD: Many suggestions have been put forth by the panel constituted by the CBSE after the leak of Class 10 and 12 question papers, including printing of centre-specific QR codes on the question papers as well as on the boxes which carry them from printers to custodians.

A statement released by the CBSE also says that question papers will no longer be handed over in simple envelopes, but in specially designed envelopes.

Another important suggestion put forth is that centres in private schools should be changed periodically and that these centres should be used only if it is not possible to acc-ommodate students in Kend-riya Vidyalayas, Navodaya Vidyalayas and Army Schools.

In case any invigilator has a ward studying in a school, he/she should not be assigned duty at that particular centre. The collection and distribution of the examination papers should be monitored online, which will help the board in identifying centres which flout the rules.

The board has also been advised to develop a large pool of ‘paper setters’, composition of which should be changed every year. “We will implement all suggestions because many students have written to the CBSE, asking us to take action against what happened this year. We want to ensure that no student faces such difficulty again,” says a CBSE official.
