AMMK party man murdered
Chennai: A 40-year-old man associated with TTV Dinakaran’s AMMK party was murdered in broad daylight on Sunday. The man, identified as Sivakumar, hails from Amaranjipuram and was employed as a fitter in the Corporation office in Royapuram zone.
When Sivakumar went out for tea at Kasipuram in the morning, a five-member gang allegedly surrounded him and hacked him multiple times when he tried to escape. Locals who saw his body amid a pool of blood immediately rushed him to Stanley Government Hospital where he succumbed to injuries.
The neighbours later informed the Kasimedu police who sent his body for autopsy and registered a case. According to preliminary investigations, the motto behind the murder is suspected to be previous enmity of one of the two men in the locality.
The police said Sivakumar was having an issue over a drainage line with a man living in Amaranjipuram and regarding this he had also registered a complaint at the Kasimedu police station, a few months ago.
Police suspect that either the man involved in this issue could have plotted a revenge murder or Sivakumar may have been targeted for tipping off the police a few days ago on a ganja peddler who was arrested and is now in Puzhal prison and who could have directed his accomplices to hack him.
