Kapunadu leader Mudragada Padnabham getting weaker, say doctors
Rajahmundry: As his indefinite hunger strike entered the ninth day on Friday, doctors said that Kapunadu leader Mudragada Padnabham was getting weaker by the day, and potassium levels in his blood were rising. The doctors said they were forced to give him normal saline to balance electrolytes in his body.
Doctors said that Mr Padmanabham was suffering from hyperkalemia where potassium levels in the blood rise abnormally due to starvation for a long time. They fear that his heart may be affected if potassium levels in his blood are not brought under control.
His blood pressure has gone up to 160/100, pulse rate recorded was 88 and blood sugar too has gone up to 156 as he is diabetic. The doctors say that Mr Padmanabham was allowing them to check his BP and conduct tests and to even administer normal saline.
