Hyderabad: The parents and staff of St. Andrews School at Old Boinpally locked horns on Friday over school timings. Nearly 60 parents took objection to school’s routine of not allowing anyone inside until all the school buses leave the premises. While the school closes at 2.55 pm, parents are allowed inside after 3.10 pm. A few parents questioned the administration over this practice, leading to tension in the premises.
“Earlier parents were allowed inside at 2.55 pm. Now we are being made to wait for 20 minutes until all buses leave. Even teachers are boarding the buses leaving children in the classes,” a parent asked.
Parents and school officials were involved in discussions for over two hours. Police stepped in to ensure no untoward incident took place. A parent said the school was not in a mood to listen to them. “We were told either to continue or take a transfer certificate,” she said.
