GVMC plans new hilltop road to Simhachalam

Speaking on this occasion, Mr Kumar informed that the GVMC officials would take up a survey to create a new alternative hilltop road.

Visakhapatnam: GVMC has been drafting plans to construct a new alternative hilltop road to reach Simhachalam Devasthanam in addition to the existing one.
GVMC commissioner Pravin Kumar visited the Simhachalam on Friday. Mr Kumar directed the officials to conclude the BRTS works until the ‘right of way’ area, leaving the disputed land behind.

Speaking on this occasion, Mr Kumar informed that the GVMC officials would take up a survey to create a new alternative hilltop road. “The survey would be carried out for three different routes – connecting the BRTS road to Simhachalam Devasthanam, Simhachalam tollgate to Devasthanam, stretch from the hill slope area of Devasthanam up to the hill. If the officials come up with their survey reports in the next 15 days, we would choose the best and construct the new road,” Mr Kumar added.

Temple executive officer Ramachandra Mohan, GVMC CCP D. Venkata Ratnam and others were present.
