CCTV cameras come up all over Vijayawada
Vijayawada: DGP J.V. Ramudu directed the police department to implement the best security measures to safeguard the public in Vijayawada city, as it became a destination for many people from all over the state and also from Hyderabad.
He stated that the law and order and the traffic were the important issues in the city, while inaugurating 220 CCTV cameras . He observed that the CCTV cameras were helping the police officials in investigating the cases and producing digital evidence at the courts in order to bring justice to the victims.
City police commissioner Gawtam Sawang installed the cameras under E-Netra concept at the prime junctions in the city, including Mahatma Gandhi Road, Besent Road, One Town and Satyanarayanapuram as part of the first phase.
The police officials explained that according to the AP Public Security Act-2013 every commercial and private entities have to install the CCTV cameras.
