Karnataka announces more relaxation including bus service

The health department will identify the red zones, State government is only particular about containment zones

Aftermath of guidelines of the Centre regarding fourth phase of lockdown, Karnataka government has announced more relaxation including KSRTC and BMTC bus services within the state during day time.

In complains with Central guidelines on fourth phase of lockdown, the State government has allowed public and private transport, only 30 passengers are allowed to travel in a bus.

Government has allowed Auto, Taxi and Maxi Cab services with travel capacity of two and three passengers respectively which excluding drivers.

As per central guidelines, Lockdown in the state will be continued till May 31. Karnataka has imposed travel ban to the people coming from Maharashtra, Gujarath, Tamil Nadu and Kerala till May 31 unless emergency works.

State government has imposed complete lockdown across the state on all Sunday’s. Shops, business establishments, commercials activities completely shut down on all Sunday’s.

It will be a curfew like situation on Sunday’s, people are not allowed to travel unless emergency works.Government has requested the hotels to provide parcel service to the customers.

After meeting with cabinet ministers, officials, the Chief Minister B.S.Yediyurappa told reporters that containment and Red zones will be under strict vigil, if anyone violates the law and order or trying to come out from containment zones, criminal action will be taken against them, he said.

BMTC, KSRTC, NEKSRTC, NWKSRTC and private buses are allowed to operate from Tuesday onwards with the condition of carrying not more than 30 passengers and wearing of masks is compulsory, these measures will be strictly implemented with an intention to maintain social distance while travelling, Mr. Yediyurappa explained.

Government decisions

Excluding Malls, Cinema theatres, multiplex and hotels, gym and swimming pools, all kinds of shops, business establishments are allowed to open Even trains services resumed within the state, No interstate train services till May 31.

Public parks across the state are allowed to open from 7 AM to 9 AM and at evening 5 PM to 7 PM.

Depending upon people’s response, state government will consider whether to lift or continue the lockdown after May 31. Since Centre has given free hands all states regarding relaxation of lockdown, Karnataka government is contemplating to lift the lockdown stage by stage.

The health department will identify the red zones. State government is only particular about containment zones. Where Covid-19 patients are more in number has considered as Containment zones.

Saloon shops and jewellery shops are permitted to open from Tuesday onwards. Existing 144 section across the state from 7PM to 7AM will be continued.
