Kerala Students Union seeks more plus one seats

The KSU will conduct marches and strikes until a solution is formulated.

KOZHIKODE: The Kerala Students Union (KSU) has decided to protest against the lack of availability of plus one seats at schools in Malabar.

Over one lakh students who are eligible for higher education are being decli-ned of seats in the Malabar region, said KSU state president K.M. Abhijith, in a press meet here on Friday.

This will adversely affect the future of children. Mr Abhijith also criticised the government for not providing the required number of seats for higher secondary education.

He said he also conducted discussions with the minister of education and secretary regarding the seriousness of this issue.

The KSU will conduct marches and strikes until a solution is formulated. The strike declaration convention will be held on May 20 from Kozhikode Town Hall at 10:30 am.

Apart from this, the party has also taken a stand to protest against the fake PhD scam issues that are happening around the state, said Mr Abhijith in the press conference.
