CPM wants ZPTC, MPTC counting to be delayed

Election Commission to postpone the counting of ZPTC and MPTC votes from May 27 to the fourth week of July.

Khammam: The Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPM) has asked the state Election Commission to postpone the counting of ZPTC and MPTC votes from May 27 to the fourth week of July.

The Election Commission had announced that the zilla parishad chairperson and mandal parishad chairperson will be sworn in on August 5.

CPM district secretary Nunna Nageswara Rao said, “There is two months time between counting and swearing-in. This will give a chance for horse-trading and not allowing a chance of governing bodies to function with discipline and commitment.”
