Karnataka governor acts like RSS man: CPM
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan on Thursday accused Karnataka Governor Vajubhai Vala of acting like a RSS worker. By inviting the BJP to form the government, the governor has murdered democracy in the state, Mr Balakrishnan said in a Facebook post. He said the RSS believed in annihilation and what the governor has done is purely in these lines. From annihilation of human beings, they have now reached to murder of democracy.
Mr Balakrishnan said the governor had given 15 days to prove majority which was a clear signal to the BJP to poach legislators offering crores of rupees and plum positions to secure majority. The governor had stooped to the level of a mere broker of horse trading. According to the convention, the political formation which has the majority after polls should be first called to form the government. The governor's stand was totally against this convention.
In Goa, Meghalaya and Manipur, the Congress was the single largest party. However, instead of Congress, the governors of these states invited BJP. At that time the governors said they had invited the largest biggest post poll formation. In Meghalaya, BJP had just two seats. But they managed to form the government by entering into an alliance with small parties.
In Karnataka, the Congress and JD(S) have strength of 115 MLAs and the BJP has only 104. By inviting the BJP to form the government, the governor has given a license to them for horse trading. Mr Balakrishnan appealed to the people to come out and fight against the anti democratic stand of the governor.
