SC refuses to vacate Hyderabad HC order on PG medical fee

The appellant contended that the court granted the order without giving it an opportunity to be heard.

Hyderabad: A vacation bench of the Supreme Court on Wednesday made it clear that it was not inclined to vacate the stay order granted by a division bench of the Hyderabad High Court on a GO issued by the TS government hiking the fee structure for the convener and management quota seats for PG medical courses.

A two-member bench comprising Justice L. Nageswara Rao and Justice Navin Sinha was dealing with a special leave petition by Kamineni Academy of Medical Sciences and Research, challenging the division bench order.

The appellant contended that the court granted the order without giving it an opportunity to be heard.

Sarasani Satyam Reddy, senior counsel appearing for the Health Care Reforms Doctors Association, the petitioner before the HC, submitted that the appellant, without approaching the High Court for vacation of stay, directly moved the Supreme Court.

The bench, while expressing disinclination to vacate the stay, adjourned the case.
