Adilabad: CRPF Jawan G Satish Goud killed in clash, cremated
Adilabad: CRPF Jawan G. Satish Goud (28) of Boath mandal of Adilabad was killed in an encounter with Maoists on Tuesday night in Bijapur of Chhattisgarh.
Goud, who was attached to the 85th CRPF battalion at Reddy Camp village in Bijapur district, would have celebrated his birthday on May 20.
His body was airlifted to Adilabad and his funeral was performed with state honours at his native place. Satish had struggled a lot to get into the CRPF to fulfill his desire to serve the country, said his family. He had joined the CRPF in June 2013 and was posted in Chhattisgarh.
He had rejoined duty on March 27 after spending 10 days with his family in Marlapalli village in Boath mandal. His father, Mr Godishela Lingagoud, recalled that he had promised to get married in the next two years.
“Satish was a hard worker and had studied intermediate and degree in Nirmal while doing private jobs to meet his expenditure and fees without being a burden on his family,” recalled one of his childhood friends.
Satish was killed when Maoists attacked the CRPF camp of 85th Battalion at Reddy Camp. Adilabad DSP Mr Laxmi Narayana was present at the Adilabad aerodrome when Satish’s body arrived from Chhattisgarh. Local police officials, political leaders and villagers participated in his funeral. CRPF Hyderabad IG Khaza Sajoddin too attended the funeral.
