Liquor outlets in Assam to be closed on May 19 and 20
Guwahati: All establishments of Excise within Kamrup Metro District will remain closed for two days from May 19 during the counting and post counting period of Assembly Elections.
Kamrup Metro district Deputy Commissioner Dr M Angamathu issued this order on Wednesday to keep IMFL,'ON'/'OF'/all Bottling plants/Breweries/all Bonded warehouse/club licenses/all country spirit shops etc, in the district where Guwahati is located, said a district administration press release here.
The order was in pursuance of an Assam Government letter and a message of the Commissioner of Excise on Wednesday to keep all establishments of Excise closed for the two days, the release said.
Any violation of the order will attract penal action as per law, it added.
