N Uttam Kumar Reddy condemns house arrest of Krishna Madiga
Hyderabad: TPCC President N. Uttam Kumar Reddy on Wednesday condemned the house arrest of MRPS leader Manda Krishna Madiga and booking cases against Congress MP Konda Vishweshwar Reddy.
Mr Uttam Kumar Reddy asked how the police could obstruct Mr Madiga when he has only protested against the insult to Dr B.R. Ambedkar be desecrating his statues.
Mr Uttam Kumar termed the house arrest of Mr Madiga as autocracy. He said the TPCC would stand by Mr Madiga on this issue. He also criticised the police for "acting with over enthusiasm". He asked Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao what message he was sending to the society with such acts.
Mr Uttam Kumar said that the Congress would make the insult to Dr Ambedkar a national issue. He said the TRS was indulging in dictatorial politics.
The TPCC chief said that the police went to Mr Konda Visweswar Reddy's residence in civil dress and resorted to highhandedness and registered a case against the MP. He said that the TPCC would stand by Mr Visweswar Reddy too.
