Hyderabad: Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation officials claimed that the state government had not given any clarity on the allocation of funds pertaining to lakes beautification projects. Officials said the project was sanctioned under Mission Kakatiya but bills under this project had piled up since a year.
A senior civic body official said that the government had assured it would fund the lake development and beautification project upto Rs 262 crore under the Urban Mission Kakatiya Phase IV. The official said that the bills pertaining to the remaining three phases had piled up since a year and the civic body was hesitating to take up the works even after finalising the tender for 12 lakes. He said that the works would pick up pace only after the government’s assurance pertaining to release of funds.
