Bengaluru: The heavy downpour accompanied by gusty winds on Wednesday evening claimed the life of a courier boy who died after a tree fell on him near Lumbini Gardens.
The deceased has been identified as Kiran (28), a resident of Coffee Board Layout and hailing from Kunigal.
Kiran was riding his bike when the unfortunate incident happened.
He was working for a courier company was coming from Manyata Tech Park side and heading towards Yogeshwar Nagar main road in Hebbal.
As he reached the Lumbini Gardens, a portion of a tree fell on his head, killing him on the spot.
The police rushed to the spot and shifted his body to a hospital for postmortem. Amruthahalli police have registered a case and informed Kiran’s family members.
