Social empowerment: A school in Bengaluru that came into being to teach girls

Bengaluru: The SSVP convent and high school, Byataranapura, Mysore road run by Sri Sharada Vidya Peeta is the dream come true of late Nadoja Dr. G Narayana. The year was 1967. Seeing the absence of a proper school for girls in the locality, he decided to step in and fill the vacuum.

The Sri Sharada Girl's High School came as a boon to hundreds of families in and and around the area and played a key role in social empowerment.

Started in a small way, the institution now has five major schools including the Sri Sharada High School, Sri Sharada Primary School, Sri Sharada PU College with government school and Sri Sharada Degree College, besides an English medium wing, the SSVP convent that offers classes from Montessori to class X.

It employees over 70 teaching and non-teaching faculty and has over 2,000 students on its rolls. The school is known for its quality teaching with efficient, enthusiastic and hard working teachers taking an oath to improve the students, who are also taught moral values besides their academic syllabus.

The minimum fee structure helps many get the education they need at the school. Poverty and social backwardness which act as social barrier are not allowed to come in the way of their education by the dedicated efforts of the staff and the management.

The institution is proud of creating an amicable learning environment and is relentlessly marching towards to make its identity with its edusat and smart class programmes.
