Bengaluru: You would not have felt this hot in the last 10 years. The sweltering at 37.8 degrees Celsius broke the record of the last decade on Sunday.
It was not the highest temperature for the city though, as the highest ever temperature was recorded at 38.9 degrees Celsius in 1931.
The Met Department said that the city will experience temperatures between 38 and 24 degrees Celsius for another 36 hours and the city might witness partly cloudy skies with the likely development of thunder and lightning towards evening or night.
The extreme weather report on the Met department website shows that the city in the past had witnessed the highest maximum temperature of 37.6 degrees Celsius in 2010 and 37.5 degrees Celsius in 2012.
The increase in temperature is because of the delay in thunderstorms, they told Deccan Chronicle. “Thunderstorms are yet to develop and at present, we see a stable atmospheric condition," they said.
