Startups perform well in Vijayawada

Vijayawada: Taking an inspiration from state government’s initiative on youth empowerment, some engineering graduates who established their own startup companies without waiting for tech jobs excelled in their sectors by providing employment to a large number of youth. These youth met Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu at Velagapudi Secretariat on Friday and thanked him for encouraging startup companies in the state by providing incentives.

Interacting with the youth, the Chief Minister said that they should come out with innovative and novel ideas to achi-eve better results. He said that the state government would encourage startup companies and provide skill development programmes for youth. He said now it is time for IT plus and Internet of things in all sectors. Some youth informed the Chief Minister that they are confident to emerge as industrialists with the encouragement provided by the state government. They explained about  their startups incl-uding get-my-tailor, get-my-books, hire puppy,  glosy trends. GBO business development officer Swapna Sidharth said that these startups would achieve a turnover of Rs 6.5 crore in a span of one year. The young entrepreneurs said that 5,000 people got employment through get-my-tailor online store launched by T. Kamalakar of Rajahmundry. He displayed the longest short of 241 mts length and 21 ft width which found a place in the Wonder Book of Records. They said over six lakh students are getting benefited through getmybooks.com

 

A member of the startups Himavarshini has been providing marketing facility to handloom products by helping the weavers improve their designs. Those who studied in Aditya Engineering College at Surampalem informed that they adopted earn-while-leapning policy.
