Warangal: Wanting to practice what the government preaches to others, the collector of Jayashankar Bhupalapalli district, Akunoori Murali, ensured that his own daughter, Pragathi, delivered her first child at the government hospital on Friday. Pragathi gave birth to a baby girl at the Mulugu government hospital. The district medical health officer, Dr Attaiah, said both the mother and baby were healthy and the baby weighed 2.250 kg.
The collector expressed his happiness over the birth of his grand-daughter and said he wanted to be an example to the people of the district and promote government hospitals in the district.
“Government hospitals in the district are fully equipped and quality treatment is being provided. The people must utili-se these services,” he said. Pragathi lives in Hyderabad with her husband but came to her parents’ ho-me in Bhupalapalli a few days ago. She went into labour on Friday and was admitted to the Mulugu government hospital.
