Mercury hits March high of 39.4ºC in Hyderabad
Last year, the maximum recorded temperature in March was 38.3 degree C.
Hyderabad: Mercury levels continued to soar here, touching 39.4 degree Celsius on Thursday, the season’s highest so far. As per Met prediction, the temperatures could touch 40 degree Celsius in the coming three to four days. Thursday’s maximum of 39.4 degree C was March month’s third highest in the past decade. On March 23, 2010, a maximum of 41.3 degree Celsius was recorded and on March 21, 2012, a maximum of 40.3 degree C. Last year, the maximum recorded temperature in March was 38.3 degree C.
An IMD expert said, "Dry weather and clear skies due to lack of clouds are causing high temperatures. The cumulonimbus clouds are forming at some places in Telangana and causing thundershowers.”
