KOZHIKODE: Vice-president of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) union and the firebrand leader, Shehla Rashid Shora, will participate in an anti-fascist programme to be held in Meppayyur here on March 26. The programme, ‘Prathirodha Vasanthangalude Kanalkoottam’ is to be held at 3 pm under the aegis of Redstar Meppayyur, a collective of leftist persons who quit CPM seven years ago.
Secretary of the collective, Nishanth P.M said that All India Students’ Association (AISA) National President and former union president of JNU, Sucheta De, Ajayan Adat (Pune film institute), Premkumar M.K, Smitha. N (Both from Hyderabad University) and K. Dinu (Farook college student) among others would take part in the programme.
“The programme would declare the strong protest of the youth in unequivocal terms over the growing fascist, intolerant trend in India,” Nishanth said. A slew of cultural programmes are also being organized as a part of the programme. Sources said that apart from Meppayyur, Shehla would take part in a programme in Thrissur also.
