Hyderabad: Inter board issues admission curbs

The BIE on Monday stated that stringent action would be taken colleges which violate norms.

Hyderabad: The Board of Intermediate Education (BIE) has stated that admissions made by junior colleges in advance will not be valid. This follows a report in Deccan Chronicle on colleges taking admissions before the BIE notification.

The admission notification from the TSBIE is expected to be released only in May.

The BIE on Monday stated that stringent action would be taken colleges which violate norms.

Members from Student Federation of India (SFI) submitted a representation stating that Sri Chaitanya and Narayana colleges were visiting houses of students and urging parents to enrol their children in their institutions. Parents were lured with offers of ‘attractive fee discounts’.

The notice stated that “All managements of private junior colleges are informed that no college should make admissions for the academic year, 2020-21, before the TSBIE announcement on the admission or before the academic year begins. Admissions made in advance would not be valid and stringent action would be initiated against erring managements.”

It cautioned parents against taking admission before the BIE published the list of affiliated junior colleges and to confirm whether the college in which they wish to take admission has affiliation for 2020-21.
