Hyderabad: The GHMC has decided to develop three wards as model ones. It will seek the help of NGOs and along with its urban community development wing raise awareness against dumping garbage in open nalas and throwing garbage and debris on the wayside. This programme was aimed at bringing behavioural change among citizens.
GHMC commissioner M. Dana Kishore said two activists will work with the NGOs and GHMC team to raise the awareness. Hyderabad could not be made into a global destination without change in behaviour among citizens, he said. Based on the outcome, the programme would be extended to all 150 wards.
