Shuhaib murder: CPI says killings undermine good works
Thiruvananthapuram: With the ghastly murder of youth Congress worker Shuhaib putting the CPM on defensive, CPI has called for stern action against politics of murder. CPI state secretary Kanam Rajendran had condemned the killing the other day saying that such brutal murders raise serious apprehensions. The politics of murder, whoevermay be indulging in, will not be supported by his party.
The CPI leadership believes that such ghastly murders would not only divert the attention of people from the good works being done by the LDF government but also give the Sangh parivar a stick to beat the Left with. With just two months left for the second anniversary of the LDF Government, the entire focus should be on governance.
The party is of the opinion that the promises made by the LDF in its manifesto need to implemented on priority. The people of the state have given a massive mandate to the LDF for good governance, corruption free administration, development, social security, social justice and better opportunities for jobs. Many in the LDF feel that the pro people steps taken by the government are often pushed to the background because of controversial issues. Sources in the ruling front said the matter will be taken up for discussion at the next LDF meeting.
