Bengaluru: A 33-year-old software engineer was found hanging in his flat at an apartment in Bellandur in HSR Layout police limits.

The deceased, Aja Sarfuddin, was from Chennai and was working in a company near Sarjapur Road. The body was found in a decomposed state at the flat on Thursday evening by his friends, who came to check on him. It is suspected that he might have hanged himself on Wednesday, after speaking to his elder sister on the phone. “When she called him on Thursday, he did not answer her calls. She requested his friends to check. One of his friends went to the flat, but Sarfuddin did not open the door. As a foul smell was coming from the flat, he informed the neighbours and the police were alerted. When the door was broke open, Sarfuddin was hanging," the police said.
