Night curfew is back in Andhra Pradesh

All establishments, firms and shops shall ensure the wearing of masks in their premises and not allow any person without a mask

Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh government has started implementation of night curfew from 11pm to 5am from Tuesday onwards up to Jan. 31 to check the spread of Covid-19 in the state.

Accordingly, the state government has imposed the norms as follows: Wearing of masks by all individuals in public places is mandatory and non-compliance shall attract a penalty of Rs 100.

All gatherings and congregations including marriages, religious gatherings and social activities shall be permitted to maximum of 200 participants at outdoor locations and to a maximum of 100 at indoor locations.

All movie theatres shall leave alternate seats vacant to maintain physical distance; and mask/sanitation is a must. In public transport, both staff members and passengers shall wear mask compulsorily.

All establishments, firms and shops shall ensure the wearing of masks in their premises and not allow any person without a mask. If there is a violation, such shop shall attract a penalty of Rs 10,000 to Rs 25,000 depending upon the gravity of the offence.

If any gross violation occurs in following Covid protocol in any market or commercial establishment, it will be closed for one or two days.

Religious institutions shall ensure compulsory maintenance of physical distancing, wearing of masks and proper sanitation.

East Godavari DSP Ravindranath said all the people ---except for the relaxations given to some sections by the government -- should not come out of their houses during the curfew timings. Those working with essential services like hospitals, diagnostic labs, pharmacies, print and electronic media, telecommunications, Internet services, broadcasting agencies, IT, IT based industries, petrol pumps, electricity, drinking water supply, sanitation and others would be exempted from the curfew.

However, they should carry with them their ID cards. Everyone should wear mask, otherwise they would face a fine of Rs 100.
